The Solartech Chronos are out! Discover their advantages.
What is a chronograph?
If we refer to a watch movement as a chronograph or chrono, it provides a stop function for measuring time intervals. The chrono mechanism is operated by pushers on the watch case, which control the various timekeeping functions. A chronograph uses separate gears and motors to measure elapsed time while normal timekeeping continues.
All Ronda chronographs have a center stop second that can be started, stopped and reset to zero using pushers. Once the chrono is activated, the center stop-second starts running independently of the main timing. Depending on the movement, the elapsed time is displayed with additional counters on the dial; for example, a 1/10th of a second, a 30-minute counter, a 10-hour or 12-hour counter.
If a movement also has a multifunction such as an alarm, the chronograph defines the assignment.
The design of the movement defines the look of the Chrono
Unquestionably, a chronograph movement allows the development of functional and versatile models. However, many manufacturers favor chronographs because complex watch designs are possible thanks to the counters on the dial. Chronos from Ronda are designed in such a way that the arrangement of counters on the dial is very balanced, which guarantees customers harmonious looks and plenty of space for branding.
In addition to the classic 3-eye look, there are models with 2 eyes or 1 eye.
With counters on 3-6-9 you will find the widest choice, while with movements on 3-9 you have extra design freedom on the dial.
Want the mechanical look in the quartz segment? – For that, we offer one model each with the 6-9-12 and 6-12 positions. The harmonious arrangement of the counters makes them suitable for both men's and women's watches.
Eye or counter positions of the Startech Chronos
Here you can see the eye or counter positions of our chronograph series 3500, 5000, 8000 as well as the series Z. Also the distance from the center of the movement is measured. – The illustrations show our chrono concept: the counter positions are as far out as possible to give you a lot of freedom for the watch design and also to allow the creation of larger watches without compromising the balanced design.
