The small family business has developed steadily over the years, and currently employs nearly 30 personnel, in particular several highly-trained automatic setters or “décolleteurs” The company today produces a wide range of turned parts and pinions for the watch manufacturing sector.   

For strategic reasons – to expand both its profile-turning capacities and its expertise – Ronda acquired its long-standing partner and supplier in 2007. This latest addition to the Ronda Group is now domiciled in Court (in Canton Jura), and is led by Serge Zwahlen, co-founder Gérard’s son.

Zwahlen SA uses state-of-the-art technology, be it in calculating, cam milling or conducting quality assurance checks.

The company’s core competencies include the production of pinions for watch movements – such as cannon pinions, centre tubes and centre pinions – with drillings of 0.15 to 3.00 mm diameter.

We have been specializing in microdrilling of between 0.15 and 3.00 mm diameter for nearly 50 years now. 

Zwahlen produces a wide range of components for the watch manufacturing industry: cannon pinions, sliding pinions, setting wheels, spindles for small second wheels and third wheels, minute and hour wheels, center tubes or studs. And it does so using AP 600 steel, 4C27A, nickel silver, copper-beryllium, brass or inox. – Small- and large-scale series production can also be undertaken.
